Speakers Bureau Talking Points

  • I am a part of a network of community-based programs serving at-risk youth, called the Community Justice Network for Youth or CJNY.
  • The programs in the CJNY represent large and small, residential and non-residential groups working to improve the public serving systems that affect young people of color and poor children.
  • We, the CJNY, believe fundamentally that children cannot be rehabilitated when housed in cages.
  • We represent a unified front against the systems that tear apart our communities.
  • The CJNY offers a number of services to community organizations including peer-to-peer technical assistance, policy forums, speaking opportunities, and regional organizing. Go to their website, www.cjny.org, to learn more about these opportunities. While you are there, sign up for their listserv and newsletter, they are great ways to stay connected to community groups around the country.
